CONSCIOUS FOOD MANUFACTURING
Sustainability
At Finedale Foods, we are committed to sustainable business practices with a continuous improvement approach to operations.
Animal Welfare and Sustainable Farming Practices
We will source the ingredients used in the manufacture of your products from farm businesses and suppliers committed to the highest standards of animal welfare and sustainable farming operations. Read more on our Provenance page.
Food Miles
The ingredients used to manufacture your products will be sourced locally wherever possible to minimise food miles in the supply chain. We have optimised supply chain management processes and reliable supply chain partners, and we can provide advice, support, and guidance to help further reduce food miles on the distribution and logistics side of the process.
Packaging
We will work with you to ensure the packaging used on your products is as environmentally friendly as possible, including eliminating plastic from your packaging’s design.
Energy
Our cold store uses solar power while our factory and business operations are powered by 100 percent green energy suppliers.
Water
We use advanced equipment and robust procedures to minimise water use during food production and cleaning routines while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and hygiene. Water is reused where possible and we are working on installing an effluent plant to process wastewater.
Waste
We employ robust processes and procedures to ensure waste is kept to a minimum. The waste that is produced is recycled, reused, or, when necessary, disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
Organic waste from our manufacturing operations is sent to an anaerobic digestion plant in nearby Attleborough. The plant produces enough energy to meet 100 percent of the gas needs of Attleborough’s 4,000 homes during the summer and 50 percent during the winter.
Sedex Accreditation
We are proud to be Sedex accredited, demonstrating our commitment to ethical business practices and responsible sourcing. Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) is a global membership organisation dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices across global supply chains.
Being part of Sedex means we adhere to strict standards for labour rights, health and safety, the environment, and business ethics. It also ensures transparency and accountability in our operations, allowing us to share our practices with clients and stakeholders. The accreditation aligns with our values of integrity and responsibility, reinforcing our role as a reliable and ethical partner in the food industry.
