RE-HAB CONDITIONING LIVERY
Sparrow Oast has been successfully rehabilitating many horses over the years, including those with chronic conditions such as kissing spine and osteoarthritis, or recovering from injury and needing post operative care.
Our knowledge and expertise with our groundwork will enhance your horse’s recovery and return to work. A tailored, specific and structured rehabilitation plan will enable your horse to restore function and strengthen and condition, allowing your horse to work biomechanically without tension or restriction.
RE-TRAINING
We have also been involved with re-training more advanced horses that have not presented with any injuries but that despite doing the more advanced work are not in true self carriage. Many of these horses have not had the topline that we would support the more advanced movements which makes the risk of injury far greater.
We have over a period of months worked on the alignment, core stability and flexibility of these horses which has resulted in them being able to do the more advanced work with far greater ease, lightness and harmony.

Nicola is an amazing trainer
Nicola is an amazing trainer both for her amazing groundwork which is transformative for the horses that she works with, as well as her dressage horse and rider training as a specialist biomechanist.
I admire her innate skill and ability to dramatically and quickly turn around often highly strung, anxious and unsure horses, to a calm and relaxed demeanour allowing Nicola to train them further with ease and without force. Her anatomical and biomechanical knowledge of both horse and rider is that of a highly skilled, knowledgeable and passionate trainer and I have recommended Nicola’s groundwork and ridden training on a number of occasions to my clients and will continue to. In addition to the amazing facilities and staff at Sparrow Oast, you have it all with Nicola at Sparrow Oast.
I’ve watched her become an excellent horse woman
I’ve worked with Nicola and her horses for over 25 years, during which time I’ve watched her become an excellent horse woman.
She has developed a deep understanding of the horse and rider’s biomechanical needs, and this she applies in her extremely effective methods of training.
This results in the horse and rider being able to optimise their biomechanical function in a safe and effective manner, significantly increasing performance and reducing the risk of injury.
This approach to training also encourages increased longevity of good mechanical function.
